Suhani Naveej is an 18-year-old girl from Karachi, Pakistan. She belongs to religious minority. She is a dedicated Social Activist and passionate to create meaningful change in society with a deep -rooted belief in equality, justice and empowerment, she works hard to address the issues affecting marginalized communities especially focusing on education, gender rights and women empowerment. Her journey into activism started with a simple desire to standup for those whose voices often go unheard. She actively engages with communities to understand their needs and challenges through awareness campaigns, community outreach and collaborations with local organizations strive to make a meaningful impact.
Shanakht Lo is a powerful social initiative led by Suhani, aimed at empowering minority girls to claim their legal identity through the acquisition of national identity cards. The project addresses a critical issue-forced conversion and underage marriages-by focusing on a fundamental right often denied to these girls: legal recognition. Without identity documents, many minority girls are left vulnerable, invisible to the state, and unable to access education, protection, or justice. Shanakht Lo works at the grassroots level, engaging with families, community leaders, and legal authorities to raise awareness and facilitate the ID registration process. By helping girls secure their identity, the project not only protects them from forced conversion and early marriage but also opens pathways to independence and opportunity. At its core, Shanakht Lo is about restoring dignity, agency, and hope to girls who deserve to live with freedom and self-respect.
