On June 14, 2019, we welcomed Irma Segunda Amaya Echeverría from El Salvador, the current president of the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN). PARLACEN is the political body of the Central American Integration System, which facilitates cooperation between Central American nations and the Dominican Republic in pursuit of peace, freedom, democracy, and development across the region.

Also present were several other PARLACEN deputies, including Silvia Garcia Polanco (Dominican Rep.), José Narciso Ramos Reyes (Panama), Sidney Orlington Francis Martin (Nicaragua), Kimberley Sarai Guevara Miralda (Honduras), and Anselmo Otoniel Navarro Gonzalez (Guatemala).

We introduced GOH’s work and ethos to our guests. Then-GOH CEO Chi Hui-Jung (紀惠容) invited the whole delegation to join the 4th World Conference of Women’s Shelters. Echeverría pledged that PARLACEN will support GOH in its mission.
