Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Prevention Services

For every victim of trauma, the length of time to heal and the process needed are different.

The hurt caused by gender-based violence is not restricted to the resulting physical trauma. The victim and their loved ones are both affected long-term in their physical and mental wellbeing, livelihood, and intimate and interpersonal relationships.

In response to the needs of victims of sexual trauma and their loved ones, we offer professional assistance and assessment from social workers; provide legal, medical, financial, and psychological consultation resources to help victims gain stability in their lives; and accompany victims as they face their trauma and start their journey towards recovery.

We have set up Dandelion Counseling Centers in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung, which provide professional long-term consultation services. Through systematic and cooperative counseling services, we help victims obtain the ability to face psychological trauma, re-enter society, and build up their internal and external strength. Through these means, we help victims transform from struggling to survive to enjoying life and advancing along the road to recovery.

In the past 15 years, we have accompanied 13,174 victims of trauma along the road to recovery.

The Dandelion Counseling Centers were established three years ago and have provided professional consultation services 52,260 times for over3,276 trauma sufferers.

  • Goals for the Future

    Goals for the Future

To strengthen the gender awareness of network personnel.

Over 50 online meetings and educational training workshops are to be held every year, through which interdisciplinary, professional discussions will be initiated.

If the gender awareness of network personnel is insufficient and they are blinded by myths surrounding sexual assault, they may deepen wounds or cause victims to relive their trauma.

To create a more welcoming social environment for victims.
We occasionally accept invitations or take the initiative to organize activities. We expect to hold over 200 events every year that will help raise awareness of sexual violence issues.

The unwelcoming attitude held by the general public towards victims can lead to further trauma that can even exceed that produced by the incident of violence itself.

To continue to provide reliable counseling services.
Through the Flying Dandelion Project, we expect to provide services to over 350 clients that have long-term counseling needs.

The government does subsidize the cost of psychological counseling for victims and has established recovery centers for sexual trauma, but it is still far from enough to provide a comprehensive plan of recovery for every person.
