The Silver Linings and Prospects for Women in Poverty Under the Covid-19 Crisis in Asia
3/17 at 12:00 a.m. ET
The Silver Linings and Prospects for Women in Poverty Under the Covid-19 Crisis in Asia was an NGO CSW66 parallel event hosted by the ANWS and the Garden of Hope Foundation (GOH).
As stated in the UN’s articles on women, women in Asia represent two-thirds of the poor in the world?. It is widely observed that GBV survivors often face economic abuse in addition to physical violence. Taking into account their financial situations, survivors may find it hard to be independent, especially because victims often bring their children with them to shelters. The event is about how CSOs in Asia can help empower GBV survivors economically and to access better employment opportunities.
