On April 7, The Garden of Hope Foundation (GOH) had the pleasure of hosting a parliamentary delegation from Luxembourg, led by Stéphanie Weydert of the Christian Social People’s Party (CSV), at its Taipei Branch Office. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for both parties to share experiences and exchange insights on gender-based violence (GBV) prevention policies and practices in Taiwan and Luxembourg.
For years, the GOH Taipei Branch has been deeply rooted in Taipei, offering comprehensive support services for survivors of gender-based violence, including domestic abuse and sexual assault. Among its key initiatives is the Dandelion Counseling Center—the first counseling center in Taiwan dedicated to survivors of sexual violence. The center has long served as a frontline provider of trauma-informed, professional psychological support, playing a vital role in helping survivors reclaim their lives.
During the exchange, the two sides held in-depth discussions on Taiwan’s reporting and support systems for survivors of sexual violence. Topics included how survivors access essential resources, the typical timeline from filing a police report to entering a shelter, and the services available to male survivors—an often-overlooked population. The Luxembourg delegation also shared their country’s relevant policies, leading to a meaningful dialogue about systemic differences and implementation challenges in both contexts.

Following the discussion, the delegation toured the Dandelion Counseling Center to gain firsthand insight into GOH’s work. They were introduced to the center’s trauma-informed approach and learned how GOH combines professionalism with empathy to walk alongside survivors in their healing journeys. The delegation expressed deep appreciation for GOH’s longstanding commitment to GBV prevention and survivor support.

GOH is honored to have engaged in this exchange with the Luxembourg parliamentary delegation. The visit not only fostered mutual understanding of each country’s frameworks for addressing gender-based violence but also laid the groundwork for future collaboration between Taiwan and Luxembourg in advancing gender equality. GOH looks forward to continued partnerships with the global community in building more inclusive, survivor-centered approaches to ending gender-based violence.
