Sunshine is a 17-year-old from Taiwan who is dedicated to protecting our planet’s oceans. Raised in a family deeply connected to the sea, Sunshine’s love for the ocean began at a young age, inspiring her to take action to ensure its health and vitality for generations to come.
Having earned her diving license at just 10 years old, Sunshine has been actively involved in beach clean-ups and underwater conservation efforts, driven by her desire to spread awareness of the importance of ocean preservation. With a keen understanding of the critical role oceans play in maintaining ecological balance, Sunshine is committed to educating others about the pressing issues facing marine ecosystems.
Her project, “Protect the New Generation,” aims to bridge the gap between conservation narratives and the youth by fostering a collective consciousness regarding environmental change. Through compelling documentaries featuring interviews with conservationists and her own perspective as a teenager, Sunshine seeks to engage fellow students in understanding the urgency of environmental protection.
Additionally, Sunshine’s initiative establishes an educational platform within schools, empowering students to become advocates for conservation within their communities. Having already impacted over 2,500 students through previous initiatives, Sunshine and her team envision a future where their project becomes a sustainable, nationwide effort in Taiwan. With plans for refinement, implementation, and expansion, Sunshine is poised to lead a movement that inspires meaningful change and protects our oceans for years to come.
