Project Name: Waste Warriors: Youth-led Waste Education for Orphan Empowerment

Chika Alifia is a 17-year-old student from Indonesia who goes to school in East Java. Chika possesses a profound interest in science, particularly environmental issues and renewable energy. As a member of the English Federation of SMANISDA (EFOS), Chika serves in the Ministry of Speech Division, honing her skills in debate, speech, and storytelling. Beyond her academic pursuits, she engages in organizational and volunteering activities, demonstrating her dedication to making a positive impact in her community.

Her project, titled “Waste Warriors: Youth-led Waste Education for Orphan Empowerment,” addresses the pressing issue of waste management while empowering marginalized youth, particularly orphans. Through practical experiences, educational workshops, and community outreach efforts, Chika aims to instill lifelong habits of responsible waste management among children and raise awareness about environmental stewardship.

The project targets multiple beneficiaries, including children, youth, and the wider community, with a focus on improving waste management practices and promoting sustainable living. By incorporating interactive activities and traditional games, Chika intends to engage participants while imparting valuable knowledge about environmentally friendly practices. To ensure the sustainability of the initiative, Chika has collaborated with stakeholders and enlisted the support of Waste Education Village administrators and senior cadres.

Throughout her project, Chika plans to organize events to educate participants about environmentally friendly waste management techniques and showcase the sustainable village model. Her ultimate goal is to inspire genuine behavioral change and cultivate a generation of eco-conscious leaders committed to promoting sustainability in their communities.
