We are delighted to share that on the third day of our Power Camp, we took our 2023 Asian Girls in Action Project fellows to Taichung, the central region of Taiwan! Our visit included an inspiring trip to Taichung Daughters House (台中女兒館), the first girls-only site in Asia established for girls’ empowerment. We were fortunate to be joined by Ms. Kuo, Li-Chun, Chief of the Children and Adolescents Section, Department of Social Welfare of Taichung City Government, as well as CRC representatives from Taichung.
The session commenced with Ms. MA, Mei-Fen, the Director of GOH’s Taichung Branch, expressing gratitude for the support from our partner organizations. She highlighted the determination of these Asian girls and their commitment to fulfilling their projects. She also discussed the services provided by GOH’s Taichung Branch, emphasizing our goal of creating a safe and equitable environment for girls on the path to gender justice.
Chief Guo, in turn, expressed appreciation to GOH for creating an opportunity for everyone to discuss our work in each country. She shared the efforts Taichung city has made in protecting children’s welfare. Additionally, a CRC representative from Taichung shared their experience of becoming a CRC representative and emphasized the importance of amplifying the voices of young people.
Furthermore, our partnering organizations—#BRAC, Women’s Aid Organisation, Breakthrough India, and Children International Manila—also shared the relevant CRC work in their respective countries. They provided updates on ongoing initiatives and discussed opportunities for support and collaboration. We deeply value the opportunity to learn from one another and eagerly anticipate future collaborations!
