「Guardian of Freedom」 program won the Quality News Award 2017/02/06

Every Sunday at 9:00pm, from Tainan’s Xinying District to Kaohsiung’s Zuoying District, you can tune in on FM 91.5 to listen to the program “Guardian of Freedom”, produced by the GOH Tainan Branch Office and hosted by Yuqian. The program has broadcasted forty episodes since March 2016, with post-broadcasting support and sponsorship from Freedom FM Radio, and is planned and executed by GOH. It covers social welfare, resource introduction, service stories, the environment, current affairs, and humanity in general. In addition to the long-term focus on issues related to children, family, intimate relationships, violence, and other social work services, the program also mixes in some down-to-earth, practical, and interesting concepts, such as "gender roles in soap operas", and "how to teach children about love". The program frequently invites guests such as psychologists, medical social workers, community college teachers, and people from non-profit organizations to introduce different topics like mental health, air pollution, and volunteer service.

Stylistically, the show is like a meeting of a caring local community. Combined with its fine content and rich diversity, the program has attracted a largely middle-aged and senior audience. It is also highly praised for its focus on children who are the victims of violence, such as in an episode named “invisible scars and the loneliness of those who would hear me”. It won the "2016 Annual News Award on Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Sexual Harassment, and Child Protection" organized by the Press and Media Self-Regulatory Association of Taiwan. Freedom FM Radio is the only Southern Taiwan media who won this year's award.

In the coming year, the "Guardian of Freedom" program will continue to broadcast rich concepts. The program will use the broadcasting platform as a medium to communicate with the public, as well as to pass on more stories, resources, and social care.
