Support the Garden of Hope at the Hsinchu Christmas Market 2016/12/06
GOH will use proceeds from the Christmas Market at Farm Coffee to help teenage parents

Where can you go to do your Christmas shopping and help a needy cause at the same time? Look no further than the Hsinchu Christmas Market, which takes place this Saturday (December 10) at the Farm Coffee leisure farm in the North District of Hsinchu City.

The market will feature a diverse range of homemade treats and world foods, including cupcakes, cookies, tacos, pies, and even boerewors (South African sausage), as well as a variety of handicrafts and fair-trade products such as knitted bags from Nepal and coffee from Ecuador.

Proceeds from the market will go to the Garden of Hope Foundation, the Aletta Foundation and the animal welfare group Taichung Paws. The Garden of Hope will use its donation to support new teenage parents, who face prejudice and social exclusion as they struggle to support their families and raise their children. The money will help make this winter a little warmer for these young families as they move toward a more stable future.

The Christmas Market is organized by Hsinchu Markets, a non-profit organization that holds Christmas and Easter markets each year to raise money for charity. Past beneficiaries include MANA Animal Adoption, Joy Project (Philippines) and KIVA (USA). This year all proceeds will go back to the community in Taiwan.

If you are in the area please come to join in the festivities. Check the Facebook page for more information.
