Workshops

Engaging workshops where fellows enhanced their project execution, shared cultural experiences, and cultivated gender perspectives through collaboration and peer feedback.

Project-Based Learning (PBL) Workshops

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is an instructional approach wherein students acquire knowledge through hands-on engagement in authentic and personally significant projects. In collaboration with iEARN Taiwan, our adept facilitators work closely with participants to refine their projects, ensuring a more comprehensive and effective project execution.

In 2025, we hosted two online sessions, extending them to physical ones during the Power Camp when our fellows visited Taiwan.

The week commenced with an inspiring in-person workshop conducted by iEARN Taiwan’s senior facilitators, Ms. Doris Wu and Ms. Nela Lin. The fellows immersed themselves in the significance of peer critique collaboration, mastering the art of seeking and incorporating feedback constructively. They also honed their skills in presenting projects effectively to individuals with diverse backgrounds, staying on track, and identifying strategies to achieve their anticipated goals.

Following this, they exchanged projects with buddies from Tainan Sheng Kung Girls’ High School, who already had successfully completed their PBL projects. These enthusiastic buddies generously shared their experiences, enriching the learning journey for all involved.

The program concluded with a grand finale as the fellows presented their projects through giving a formal presentation about her project in 5 minutes.Conveying essential information in such a short span was undoubtedly challenging, but our fellows rose to the occasion. The presentations proved to be both informative and inspirational, reflecting the hard work and dedication invested in their projects. This exercise provided a golden opportunity for them to fine-tune their public speaking and presentation skills, acting as a crucial trial run for their upcoming presentations in October.

To further support future girl leaders, GOH is excited to share online foundational PBL courses in 2025. These courses will provide applicants with a better understanding of how to design and develop their own projects.

💡 Whether girls are just getting started or refining their ideas, this course will equip them with essential skills to develop a concrete project plan!

Gender Advocacy Workshop

The Gender Advocacy Workshop at the 2025 AGC Power Camp provided Fellows and Chaperones with a meaningful and eye-opening exploration of gender norms, inequality, and practical advocacy. Led by Mr. Moi Lee of the Garden of Hope Foundation, the session highlighted how gender divides are woven into everyday life, often in subtle ways that go unnoticed. Through real examples, including his experience in Taiwan’s military, Mr. Lee demonstrated how social systems are frequently shaped around men’s needs while women are stereotyped as weaker or more emotional.

Following the discussion, participants worked in small groups to design gender-aware initiatives addressing issues such as menstrual stigma, educational access, and harmful beauty standards. Their proposals showcased creativity, critical thinking, and a strong commitment to gender equality. The workshop encouraged participants to reflect on differences in lived experiences across genders and deepened their understanding of the systemic barriers that continue to influence communities.
