【Application Deadline Extended to March 30】Call for Applications: 2025 Asian Girls in Action Project

Submission Deadline: 6 p.m. on March 30, 2025.(GMT+8 / Taiwan Time)

Online Application Form: https://forms.gle/cNUqaBLoXrt5Hstw8

Since 2012, the Garden of Hope Foundation (GOH) has led the Asian Girls Campaign (AGC), focusing on empowerment and education to uplift girls. Building on this legacy, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the 2025 Asian Girls in Action Project, an innovative program that first began in 2023.

This program supports girls aged 15-19 in carrying out projects aligned with at least one of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The final selected participants coming to Taiwan will be recognized as 2025 AGC Fellows. Our mission is to equip AGC Fellows with the skills and mindset needed to become the next generation of leaders.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES DESCRIPTION

To equip participants with essential project implementation skills, the Garden of Hope Foundation (GOH) has partnered with iEARN Taiwan to provide project-based learning (PBL) workshops. These workshops, offered both online and in-person, will help participants refine their project proposals and develop practical skills for execution.

In July, participants will be invited to Taiwan for a week-long Power Camp, where they will collaborate with their PBL buddies, engage in co-creation activities, and explore Taiwan’s efforts in empowering girls. The camp will also offer deeper insights into gender equality issues and sustainable development initiatives.

Following the preparatory phase, participants will launch their Try-out Projects in August, supported by a mini-grant from GOH. This phase serves as a hands-on opportunity for fellows to apply their newly gained knowledge and skills while working toward their long-term goals.

In September, participants need to host a Try-out Project Presentation in their local communities, sharing their experiences, key takeaways, and future plan. The program will then conclude with a final online presentation in October, where professional judges will evaluate the projects and select outstanding initiatives as Annual Projects. GOH will provide further support to the selected projects, helping to advance their impact and sustainability.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS

  1. Eligible participants: Girls aged 15 to 19 who are residing in any Asian country.
  2. Participants must have an interest in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a strong commitment to leading SDG projects. GOH is looking especially for projects that include an innovative perspective on the 17 SDGs and which help to develop leadership capacities and skills in the fellows.
  3. Applications for projects that involve influential guests and aim to secure media exposure in the participant’s country or community will be given favorable consideration.
  4. Each participant must be backed by a registered organization or school with a designated chaperone to meet legal requirements. The chaperones will also serve as points of contact throughout the entire program when needed (e.g., when the applicants cannot be reached). They will also need to provide necessary support to participants throughout the program and accompany them to Taiwan. Therefore, the chaperone should have a good command of English and experience in youth empowerment. Additionally, since the chaperone must accompany the participants throughout the entire Power Camp in Taiwan, a female chaperone with a valid passport is preferred.
