On July 22nd, the 10th Asian Girls Award was brought to a successful closure. Thanks to our dedicated jury panel—Soni, Vivi and Nazreen, for giving us an inspiring interview, and all our outstanding girls who participated this year. The 2022 Asian Girls Award would not have been successful without your great efforts.
This year, we had more than 20 Asian girl candidates. After an afternoon of sharing and interviews, we are excited to announce our 3 Individual Award winners and 1 Team Award winner:
[2022 Human Rights Award]
Saba Sharma (India)
[2022 Community Development Award]
Susmita Bhandari (Nepal)
[2022 Social Innovation Award]
Anshara Mustafa (Pakistan)
[2022 Changemakers Team Award]
Inside Out Team (Mongolia)
While we are cheering for our award winners, we also want to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation to Rejina Gharti Magar, our 2021 Asian Girls Ambassador, who had a fabulous performance during the interview. Her enthusiasm for helping other candidates and outstanding leadership represented the spirit of the Asian Girls Award. Hence, we would like to name Rejina Gharti Magar as our ‘Honorary Asian Girls Ambassador.’
For the participants who did not win the award this year, it’s our pleasure to have your dedication as your enthusiasm and persistence are truly admired, and we cannot wait to see your future achievements.
Last but not least, the Garden of Hope Foundation would also like to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation for supporting the Asian Girls Award and contributing to our campaign. With all the support, we will continue our mission of creating a world where all girls have the freedom and autonomy to make decisions for their own lives, their own futures, how they want to treat their bodies, and to speak out for themselves.
