What is NGO CSW?

NGO CSW is a committee organized by over 200 NGOs all over the world, their mission being to provide a platform to the UN and NGOs to discuss UN policies for women and exchange information and ideas.
The NGO CSW annual forum is held each March and is the biggest event for women’s rights workers in the world. They go to learn, exchange ideas, and celebrate women’s rights together.

NGO CSW66 Girls-Centered Social Entrepreneurial Business Models: A Roundtable Discussion

Social enterprises have proved to be a means of reaching SDGs. Working closely with their local communities, they understand the complexity of the problems at hand and come up with the best solutions. Moreover, social impact, such as community reconciliation and generating jobs for women, have created benefits beyond financial returns. In particular, female youth social entrepreneurs are some of the most active and goal-oriented among their peers.

Despite the positive changes that young female entrepreneurs bring to their communities, apparent challenges remain: specifically, the institutional and systematic discrimination of treating women as less than their male counterparts. Additionally, the dilemma of measuring social impact alongside its financial returns has long been on the discussion table.

This panel seeks to bring together two girl social entrepreneurs, two girls’ upskilling organizations, an ESG-mindful corporation, and a UN agency officer to gain an overall understanding of the current girls-social entrepreneurial ecosystem and how all actors can collaborate to reach SDGs.
