On November 9-10, the Garden of Hope Foundation (GOH) participated in the LEAP Workshop hosted by the Foundation for Women’s Rights Promotion and Development (FWRPD) in Taipei, Taiwan.
This year’s workshop invited activists and NGO workers from around the world to share the latest topics from NGO CSW Forum and to teach NGO workers about tips to apply for NGO CSW 67th.
With 10-year experience in participating in NGO CSW Forum, our International Affairs Coordinator—Christy Cheng is honored to be invited as a guest speaker at the workshop. Christy has shared our past experiences of hosting NGO CSW Parallel Events and how we always tried to provide platforms for other Asian organizations to speak up. Also, she mentioned that once we had invited the LGBTQ+ organization from Chiang Mai to sell their handmade fabric products as a promotion of GOH’s event, which also helped the organization to promote itself well.
Moreover, besides the LEAP Workshop, FWRPD focused on the CSW67th Primary Theme “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls” and hosted a whole-day event of “East Asia Gender Equality Forum” on Nov. 11. FWRPD not only invited speakers from various organizations such as Feminist Leadership and Mobilization on the Edge, Taipei Women’s Rescue Foundation, but also speakers from Korea, Japan, and even the Head of Women’s Safety at Meta. The forum brought a new perspective for the participants on the challenges technological innovation brings to gender equality in East Asian countries.
